Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at The Salvation Army Eastern Territory in Port Jervis. As a Sales Associate, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and engaging shopping environment for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Store Manager to achieve sales goals and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Operate a cash register, process transactions, and handle customer payments with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with receiving donations, including providing tax receipts and ensuring that all donations are properly processed and stored.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized store environment, including vacuuming, mopping, and dusting shelves.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and other team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive store atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Corps Officer.
Requirements
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required; prior work experience in a retail setting preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work weekends, including Saturdays, and flexible scheduling as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
