The Port Jervis Community Development Agency is seeking a qualified individual to fill a part-time contract position as a Housing Quality Standards Inspector for our HUD funded Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Job SummaryThis is a part-time independent contracted position that requires the inspector to ensure that participating housing units meet the minimum housing quality standards set by HUD.
Responsibilities- Conduct regular inspections of participating housing units to ensure compliance with HUD's housing quality standards
- Identify and document any deficiencies or violations
- Work with landlords and tenants to resolve any issues or concerns
- Provide training and education to landlords and tenants on HUD's housing quality standards
Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of HUD's housing quality standards and regulations. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
