Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at The Salvation Army in Port Jervis. As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with sales and donations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ring sales at the register, handle cash and credit transactions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with receiving donations, including giving tax receipts and helping to sort and process donations.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized store environment, including vacuuming, mopping, and dusting shelves.
  • Assist with restocking racks of sorted clothing and goods, and create an attractive shopping environment.
  • Work with the Store Manager to enforce pricing policy and recommend strategies for sales.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Corps Officer.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Prior work experience in a retail setting preferred, but not required.
  • Flexible and willing to work weekends, including Saturdays.
  • Ability to handle a cash register, including voiding transactions and making change.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent people skills and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and take donations up and down a flight of stairs.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
