Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our patients, working closely with our orthopedic team to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Practice: Support the orthopedic provider in clinic with patient rooming, updating electronic medical records, home exercise teaching, pre and post-op care, and preparing patients for injections.
  • Clinical Program: Collaborate with the orthopedic team to provide safe and quality care, confirm HIPAA standards, and coordinate follow-up care and referrals.
  • Patient Safety, Quality, and Research: Create and support a culture of safety, role model service excellence, participate in safety and quality improvement efforts, and promote clinical trials and research activities.
  • Professional Development and Education: Participate in enhancing the professional development of athletic trainers and other healthcare providers involved in orthopedic patient care.
Qualifications

We require a Bachelor's degree in physical therapy or allied health sciences, two years of experience as an athletic trainer, and national certification as an athletic trainer (ATC). Connecticut state licensure and BLS certification are also required. Casting and outpatient orthopedic experience are preferred.
