Role Summary

We are expanding our global S/4HANA Transformation Office and seeking a collaborative and self-motivated individual to contribute to our corporate growth strategy. This role focuses on modernizing our ERP and supply chain systems by replacing outdated processes with innovative digital solutions. You will engage with leaders worldwide to develop new solutions.

The Director of IT Financial Applications will report to the SAP Transformation IS Program Director and will be tasked with overseeing and coordinating the activities of the SAP System environment and related Business Software Applications while implementing best practices. This position will support various aspects of SAP S4HANA implementation and enhancements for Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis teams. The successful candidate will act as the primary finance advocate for SAP initiatives and collaborate closely with other S/4 Program workstreams. A strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly while working with multiple departments within and outside of Finance and IT is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of SAP functional members and system integration partners to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Promote a collaborative and efficient working environment within the IT team, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work with SAP implementation partners to ensure project timelines are met and maintain effective internal IT engagement.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, R&D, and other digital service teams to ensure accurate business requirements are captured.
  • Support prototyping, functional design, and cross-module integration, guiding the business in maximizing platform functionality.
  • Ensure adherence to SAP global templates and address any necessary deviations.
  • Identify essential capabilities, tools, standards, and best practices to meet functional objectives and address emerging issues.
  • Conduct gap analysis for complex projects and translate business requirements into functional design specifications.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Finance Leadership in collaboration with IT FICO experts on developing SAP ERP technology solutions that enhance Finance functions.
  • Oversee accounting master data and lead training initiatives for Accounting and FP&A staff.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO), including Financial and Treasury processes, Product Costing, and Financial Reporting.
  • Guide testing cycles and manage cutover activities for go-live preparations.
  • Compile process flow maps, perform process gap analysis, and support SOP development.
  • Design and maintain project plans for successful implementation and technological advancements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 10 years of experience with SAP.
  • Experience with at least one end-to-end SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementation.
  • A background in accounting with several years in audit or accounting roles is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 6+ years of experience in system customization and configuration, with a focus on leading implementations.
  • Experience in a global environment with localization requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and effective project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% globally as required.
