Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Field Generator Tech to join our team at Mid Cal Labor Solutions. As a Field Generator Tech, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance service on generators, including changing engine fluids and filters, inspecting AC and DC systems, belts, hoses, and exhaust systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with Service Manager to plan effective work and travel schedule, prioritizing customer needs and considering machine location and part availability.
  • Provide tools and parts and arrange for facilities to perform repair work on customer premises.
  • Report to Service Manager on customer information, machine description, malfunction details, work time, mileage, and other relevant data for proper accounting and billing.
  • Perform load bank testing and automatic transfer switch testing.
  • Filing proper paperwork and checklists for each inspection.
  • Strive to increase technical skills through company-sponsored vocational schools, annual training meetings, and technical literature reading.
  • Promote and enhance company image by maintaining a neat appearance and keeping the service truck clean and polished.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in electrical systems and generator maintenance. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
