About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at DePaul. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing care, rehabilitative training, support, and supervision to residents in our community living program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide teaching, monitoring, and recovery-oriented supports to residents in accordance with OMH 593 and 595.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans for residents, including admission, ongoing recovery-oriented services, and discharge.
  • Observe, monitor, document, and report resident behaviors and progress.
  • Assist residents with daily living skills, including meal preparation and household chores.
  • Supervise and document resident medications.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of recreational activities.
  • Transport residents safely when needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Human services experience preferred.
  • RC I: Clean driving record that meets Agency's Clean Driving Record Policy; must be at least 18 years of age.
  • RC II: QMHS Standard; Bachelor's degree in Human Services, or an Associate's degree in Human Services with 3-years FT related paid experience, or a High school diploma and 5 years related paid experience.
Work Environment

The DePaul Ridgeview Commons Apartment Treatment Program provides consumers with the highest level of independence in a program licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health. The program is designed to be a preparatory step before the consumer begins to live independently within the community.
