This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support our anesthesiologists and nurses. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in maintaining the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect anesthesia equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition for each procedure.
- Assist anesthesiologists with pre-operative preparations, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Provide support to the surgical team during procedures, including maintaining a clean and organized operating room.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and sterilization, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain proficiency in the use of specialized equipment, including the Medivator, autoclave, and Sterrad NX.
- Collaborate with the Biomedical Department and department supervisor to ensure the availability of properly functioning equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Anesthesia Technology or equivalent experience.
- Certification as an anesthesia tech or completion of an AEMT or LPN program with additional on-the-job training.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to move freely about the facility, with or without an assisted device, and to perform the functions of the job.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to stressful situations and potentially infectious materials. The ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and maintain regular and predictable attendance is essential.
