Full-Time Healthcare Reception Specialist

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers is on the lookout for adaptable and reliable Healthcare Reception Specialists who can thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. Our facilities operate every day of the week from morning until evening. All full-time staff members are scheduled for three shifts weekly in their designated areas. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is essential. Candidates must be prepared to assist at any ExpressCare location during staffing emergencies or fluctuations in workload.

Role Responsibilities

The Healthcare Reception Specialist plays a vital role in managing patient interactions, including answering and directing phone calls, registering patients, welcoming visitors, and ensuring accurate patient information is obtained and verified. This position involves creating and updating patient records while upholding confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling incoming calls and providing information about the practice within established guidelines. Directing clinical inquiries and urgent calls to appropriate clinical staff or providers as per policy.
  • Registering patients, assisting with check-in processes, and verifying all patient demographics for both new and returning individuals.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of patient documentation and information.
  • Performing office tasks such as distributing mail, responding to emails, and managing fax communications.
  • Verifying insurance compatibility and collecting necessary documentation.
  • Processing patient payments in the accounting system, including co-pays and outstanding balances.
  • Facilitating the checkout process for departing patients.
  • Scanning and attaching various medical documents to electronic health records.
  • Maintaining a tidy waiting area and front desk environment.
  • Assisting clinical staff as required.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum educational and professional qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Preferred certification as a Medical Receptionist.
  • Required experience in customer service.
  • A positive demeanor and exceptional attitude.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Administrative knowledge.
  • Experience in a medical office setting is advantageous.
  • Adherence to attendance policies is a must.
  • Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work at various locations with reliable transportation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work shifts exceeding 12 hours.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.

Full-Time position with rotating shifts, available every day of the week, including holidays.
