Early Childhood Education Assistant

The Atlanta Children's Day Shelter is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young children facing homelessness.
Under the direction of the Lead Teacher, you will assist in implementing the curriculum, providing meaningful instruction, and engaging children in age-appropriate activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing the curriculum and providing instruction that encourages intellectual growth
- Working closely with the Lead Teacher to plan and execute daily activities and experiences
- Providing adequate supervision and ensuring a safe and secure environment for children
- Developing individual relationships with children and fostering a nurturing classroom environment
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with parents and providing regular communication
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with young children, has experience in early childhood education, and is committed to providing high-quality care and education. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, TCC, or AA degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- At least 2 years of experience working with children younger than six years old, preferably in a state-licensed childcare facility
- Familiarity with Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning Bright from the Start rules and regulations
