Insight Global is seeking a qualified professional to assist the Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response (HEER) Office.

The duration of this role may be subject to extension.

Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing projects of various scales and complexities.
Conducting field audits and inspections across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with the Environmental Hazard Management Plan (EHMP) or Construction EHMP on record with the HEER Office.
Systematically organizing and analyzing data.
Preparing and executing technical evaluations of reports.
Coordinating and planning field assessments of contaminated locations.

Planning and/or executing multi-media sampling, which includes soil (multi-increment (MI)) sampling, groundwater and surface water sampling, as well as soil gas sampling at sites with potentially hazardous materials.

A Bachelor’s Degree in environmental sciences or physical sciences (e.g., geology, biology, hydrology, toxicology, health physics) is required.
3-5 years of experience in scientific, environmental engineering, or environmental consulting roles, including:
o Drafting and reviewing submissions to the DOH HEER Office
o Knowledge of the HEER Office program - TGM, SAPs, EHMPs, C-EHMPs, iHEER, site inspections for compliance, etc.
o Executing site investigations
o Field experience in multi-media sampling (groundwater, soil, and soil gas)
o Managing projects and client relationships
o Compiling technical reports (Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, and sampling/analysis plans)
Exposure to federal and state regulatory frameworks.
