Job Description:
The Senior Laser Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with the Product Engineering team and Research & Development departments.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with overseeing and enhancing existing laser products or product lines, tracking and analyzing yield and performance metrics, and working in conjunction with Contract Manufacturers, fabrication teams, and other engineering groups to ensure the product line remains robust.

Furthermore, the engineer will play a pivotal role in guiding new product initiatives from conception to market launch. Hands-on device characterization responsibilities may be included based on the candidate's interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present analytical run charts and Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts.
  • Monitor, document, and address product yield challenges.
  • Engage daily with production engineers for feedback and troubleshooting.
  • Analyze test data and authorize product release to inventory.
  • Review test results and communicate findings to R&D for new development projects.
  • Create specifications and sorting algorithms for new product offerings.
  • Establish testing requirements for new product development.
  • Generate internal part numbers and Bill of Materials (BOM) for new products.
  • Develop and refine automated testing protocols and implement them.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related technical field (Master’s or PhD preferred, Electrical Engineering is a plus).
  • Familiarity with fundamental statistical principles.
  • Proficiency in writing software for electronic device allocation based on test performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.

Additional Skills:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
  • Understanding of laser performance parameters.
  • Proficiency in SQL, C, Matlab, MS Excel, JMP, and Python.
  • Capability to conduct electrical and optical testing of lasers.
  • General knowledge of MS Windows operating systems and computer networking.
