Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced clinician to lead and provide specialist dietetic services to adults on the acute Gastro/surgical wards, providing evidence-based nutritional assessments and management for all adults requiring specialist and complex nutrition interventions.

Main Duties
  • Lead and provide specialist dietetic services to adults on the acute Gastro/surgical wards
  • Provide evidence-based nutritional assessments and management for all adults requiring specialist and complex nutrition interventions
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives within the Dietetic team
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines
Person Specification
  • HCPC Registration
  • Leadership Qualification
  • BDA membership
  • Membership of relevant clinical specialist interest group
  • Post-registration qualification/module at masters level or working towards post-registration qualification in relevant subject area
  • Extensive post-graduate clinical experience in surgical/gastroenterological dietetics in an inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Responsive to changing service needs and pressures, with a proven ability to implement change
  • Clinical supervisory skills training and past involvement in student training
  • Evidence of continued Professional Development relevant to clinical area and to an advanced level
  • Managerial experience of other dietetic staff/non-registered staff
  • Experience of appraisal and performance managing staff
  • Advanced practice-based competencies related to artificial tube feeding and parenteral nutrition
  • Facilitation of student training
