Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Jail Operations Coordinator to join our team at the County of Freeborn. As a key member of our law enforcement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our jail facilities.

You will work closely with our detention deputies to ensure that all aspects of jail operations run smoothly, from admission and release processes to facility maintenance and security.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake and release procedures for inmates, including accurate identification, fingerprinting, and processing of personal property.
  • Perform daily security checks and maintain order within the jail, ensuring the safety and well-being of both inmates and staff.
  • Assist with training new staff members and maintain accurate records of training and certifications.
  • Coordinate meal service, medical care, and laundry exchange for inmates.
  • Manage day-to-day activities, including scheduling, transportation, and communication with other facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including inmate dispositions, status updates, and security incident reports.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and protocols.
