High-Powered Radio Frequency Engineered Systems Technician

Job Summary

The Accelerator Operations and Technology Division (AOT) at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an experienced Engineered Systems Technician to join our Radio Frequency Engineering (RFE) group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of high-powered radio frequency systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate complex electronic and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair high-powered radio frequency systems
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of accelerator systems
  • Provide on-call support for the 201 MHz team
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of related experience
  • Experience with electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters
  • Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, commissioning, and repairs on electrical/electronic equipment and/or systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with particle accelerator operations and maintenance
  • Experience with high-power RF devices and systems
  • Knowledge of RF test equipment and troubleshooting techniques
