Overview

Position Summary
Evaluates and diagnoses patients within a clinical environment. Establishes expected outcomes, executes treatment plans, and orchestrates comprehensive care. Conducts and supports oncology and infusion-related therapies, treatments, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

1. Establishes anticipated outcomes for each patient's tailored treatment strategy.
2. Executes the defined treatment plan and manages all facets of care delivery.

3. Provides education and guidance to patients and their families regarding recognized health requirements, healthcare procedures, immunization protocols, and the effects and contraindications of medications.

4. Addresses specific clinical needs of oncology and infusion patients by leveraging expertise and knowledge.
5. Identifies medication mid-solution incompatibilities and recognizes factors influencing stability.

6. Conducts facility acuity coding by selecting the appropriate service level for a varied patient demographic, ensuring that all relevant clinical data is recorded in the patient's medical documentation and supports the chosen service level.

Physical Demands
Role necessitates walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling. Requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Proficiency in English is essential for clear communication. Must possess full sensory capabilities, including sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Ability to maintain focus and respond swiftly to changes in patient and/or clinic conditions is crucial.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Nursing School is mandatory. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or a temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of North Carolina is required.

Experience in oncology is preferred. Proficiency in IV therapy, bone marrow procedures, spinal taps, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and phlebotomy is advantageous. Oncology certification is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required in accordance with policy guidelines.
