Novartis is seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist to join our PK Sciences Translational Modeling team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in accelerating radioligand discovery and development by leveraging modeling and simulation to inform decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute modeling strategies to support radioligand therapy programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to guide therapeutic design and dose selection decisions.
- Build and apply innovative quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) and physiologically based PK (PBPK) models to link radioligand pharmacology, tissue biodistribution, and biological and clinical outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of an integrated radioligand modeling platform that bridges data and knowledge across preclinical species and patients, partnering with discovery project teams and preclinical safety and pharmacometrics groups.
- Implement innovative quantitative approaches to advance translational science for radiopharmaceuticals.
- Communicate modeling results to a multidisciplinary audience to facilitate decision-making and proactively seek opportunities to increase the impact and awareness of translational and clinical modeling.
- Ph.D. in biology, pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, biophysics, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in radiobiology/nuclear medicine.
- Prior experience in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), QSP, and/or PBPK modeling is preferred.
- Expert-level proficiency in core modeling fundamentals, including scripting languages (e.g., MATLAB, R), construction of ordinary differential equation (ODE) models, parameter estimation, and data visualization.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate modeling results to a multidisciplinary audience and lead modeling projects with drug discovery/development project teams.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
