Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Ontology and Data Modeling to join our team. As a key member of our Finance Products and Data Solutions team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise ontologies in support of our Data Strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ontology and data modeling, with experience in using W3C standards, including RDF, RDFS, OWL, SKOS, and SHACL. You will work closely with our technology, product, and other Capital One teams to support the development and integration of semantic technology into our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of enterprise ontologies and data models to support our Data Strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate semantic technology into our products and services
  • Develop and maintain ontologies and data models using W3C standards
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Communicate the value of ontology and data modeling to stakeholders and drive adoption

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics
  • At least 6 years' experience in a metadata field of work (ontology, taxonomy, semantics, or computational linguistics)
  • Experience using W3C standards, including RDF, RDFS, OWL, SKOS, and SHACL
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics
  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into enterprise semantic solutions
  • Familiarity with graph databases and technologies
  • Familiarity with Python or R
  • Familiarity with Agile principles, processes, and methodologies
