Job Title: Senior Manager, Ontology and Data Modeling

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Ontology and Data Modeling efforts. As a key member of our Finance Products and Data Solutions team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing enterprise ontologies in support of our Data Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement enterprise ontologies to support Capital One's Data Strategy
  • Lead the development of domain ontologies in support of our ERP replacement initiatives
  • Partner with Technology, Product, and other Capital One teams to integrate semantic technology into our products and services
  • Communicate the value of using semantic technology and knowledge organization concepts to stakeholders
  • Develop and prioritize the long-term Ontology and Data Modeling roadmap to deliver business outcomes
  • Define KPIs for Ontology and Data Modeling and track progress
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Library Science, Ontology, Semantics, or Computational Linguistics
  • At least 6 years' experience in a metadata field of work (ontology, taxonomy, semantics, or computational linguistics)
  • Experience with W3C standards, including linked and canonical data and ontologies (JSON, XML, RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SKOS)
  • Experience with ontology and linked data tools (Protégé, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, Stardog, AnzoGraph, Neptune, or Data.World)
  • Experience with SQL or SPARQL
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Library Science, Ontology, Semantics, or Computational Linguistics
  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into enterprise semantic solutions
  • Familiarity with graph databases and technologies
  • Familiarity with Python or R
  • Familiarity with JSON, OpenAPI/YAML, AVRO
  • Familiarity with Agile principles, processes, and methodologies
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
