Job Summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with radiological standards, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Operate radiology equipment, including portable x-ray machines, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assess patient conditions, ensure patient safety, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Review and document patient requisitions, examination results, and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Technology.
  • Certification granted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Two (2) years of directly related experience preferred.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Able to transport patients and move equipment as needed.
  • Occasional sitting, frequent standing, walking, and lifting of 30-35 pounds.
  • Ability to wear protective lead aprons and gloves during examinations.
  • Manual dexterity and fine hand manipulation to operate radiology equipment.
  • Good hearing and visual acuity to perform examinations and observe patients.

  • Knowledge of radiographic equipment, examinations, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize patient care and prioritize tasks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
