Position: Financial Operations Manager at Baldwin Real Estate Corporation

The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the fiscal responsibilities of Baldwin Real Estate Corporation's diverse portfolio, which includes both commercial and residential properties. This position is integral to the Baldwin finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team within the accounting division, collaborating closely with the Controller and various operational departments, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements, conduct thorough analyses of financial records, and ensure all reports adhere to established accounting standards. Address discrepancies identified in the property portfolio managed by accounting staff.
  • Generate detailed financial summaries to project cash requirements for individual properties.
  • Compile comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analyses for management review.
  • Review and maintain quarterly financial documents for banking institutions.
  • Assist external accounting firms with annual tax obligations related to the properties.
  • Work in partnership with commercial property managers to develop and sustain recovery pools for multiple properties, and scrutinize billing statements for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Residential Property Managers to formulate annual financial plans.
  • Supervise payroll processing and ensure accurate allocation across various entities, managing benefits distribution.
  • Administer the period-end closing processes for various MRI modules, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Cash Management.
  • Provide assistance to the broader accounting team with MRI software.
  • Engage in additional departmental projects as required.
  • Execute any other essential tasks as directed by management.

Educational Requirements/Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is essential. CPA or CMA credentials are highly advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and auditing practices is required. Experience in both commercial and residential real estate is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a related field is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and MRI or similar accounting software is required.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $85,000 annually
