Assistant Swim Team Coach

About the Job:
The YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking an experienced Swim Team Assistant Coach to join our team. As a key member of our swim team, you will be responsible for providing direct leadership, instruction, and motivation to our swimmers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Swim Team Coach to create and implement training programs.
- Lead structured practices during weekday evenings throughout the year.
- Support the Head Swim Team Coach with administrative tasks, including swim meet arrangements and team performance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and foster a collaborative swim team environment.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and positive environment for our swimmers.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of competitive swimming experience, with collegiate experience preferred.
- 1+ year of swim coaching experience, with USA Swimming and YMCA coaching credentials required.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in swim skills and communicate effectively with swimmers and their parents.
- Certifications in CPR for Professional Rescuer, AED, and First Aid are required or willingness to obtain.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year.
