Youth Development Coach

Are you passionate about empowering young minds and bodies? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Sports Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Hartford.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an individual who can deliver high-quality sports instruction, promote healthy lifestyles, and embody the values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

1. Sports Instruction: Teach various levels of sports and character development in a positive and supportive environment.
2. Staff Meetings and Training: Regularly attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and program developments.
3. Nutrition and Wellness: Educate participants on healthy lifestyle choices, including nutrition and fitness.
4. Role Modeling: Act as a role model, upholding the YMCA's core values and promoting a culture of excellence.
5. Program Development: Contribute to creating a fun and engaging atmosphere, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
6. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper care and storage of sports equipment.
7. Supervision: Provide supervision to participants at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
8. Innovation: Generate new ideas to enhance program offerings and engage participants.
9. Volunteer Support: Supervise and train volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.

• A strong working knowledge of health and fitness principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current Community CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within 30 days of hire.

• The ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for extended periods.
• Lifting and assisting children weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Vision and auditory abilities to respond to critical situations and physical agility to act swiftly in emergencies.

Salary Estimate: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and location-specific factors.
