Wound Care Nursing Coordinator

The Wound Care Nursing Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering exceptional wound and ostomy care within a leading healthcare organization. This position is essential for ensuring high standards of patient care and involves a comprehensive approach to wound management.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn alignment with the organization's core values, the Wound Care Nursing Coordinator is tasked with:
- Conducting thorough assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with wounds and ostomies.
- Guiding and supervising the performance of staff in wound care practices.
- Facilitating educational sessions and serving as a consultant for wound care matters.
- Maintaining and revising the skin care protocols to ensure best practices.
- Coordinating care, education, and training for ostomy patients.
- Overseeing the utilization of specialized beds for optimal patient outcomes.
- Managing patient and family education, including the upkeep of educational resources and collaboration with the education department for in-service training.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certification as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN)
- A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience, specifically in wound and ostomy care
