Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to lead our project teams in delivering high-quality mechanical systems and services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and construction administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Estimating: Develop accurate project estimates, including take-off and analysis.
  • Project Scheduling: Create and manage project schedules, including manpower scheduling.
  • RFI Management: Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensure timely responses.
  • Submittal Packages: Prepare and manage submittal packages for contractors.
  • Contractor Data Management: Manage the flow of contractor-provided submittal data.
  • Data Population: Assist in populating forms with project data.
  • Project Progress Billings: Prepare project progress billings.
  • Troubleshooting: Assist in technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of HVAC air equipment, HVAC piping equipment systems, and HVAC & plumbing equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Project Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC & plumbing design and system operation.
  • Proficiency in MS Project scheduling, MS Access, and MS Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Above-average organizational skills in handling and archiving technical data.
