Position Summary

In this role, you will collaborate with project and staff engineers to execute geotechnical assignments across a diverse range of projects for clients in the Southwest Florida region. Additionally, you will have the chance to engage with our national team on projects located outside the state. Typical projects in Southwest Florida encompass large-scale developments, luxury residential properties, high-rise condominiums, commercial structures, bridges, roadways, and utility installations. You will also take on a mentorship role for field and laboratory staff involved in soil and concrete testing, as well as foundation installation inspections. Forensic evaluations related to foundation issues will also be part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients to develop proposals for geotechnical studies, field testing, analysis, and design solutions.
  • Coordinate with field and laboratory personnel to ensure thorough explorations and testing.
  • Draft comprehensive reports detailing geotechnical findings and construction recommendations.
  • Oversee scheduling for in-house drilling teams and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site visits to construction locations, assisting owners and contractors with geotechnical and CoMET-related concerns.
  • Perform evaluations on completed structures to investigate distress and provide follow-up reports with repair recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with the ability to secure a PE license in Florida within three months.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in geotechnical and CoMET studies.
  • Proficient in analyzing field and laboratory data to determine optimal foundation solutions.
  • Expertise in designing shallow foundations, soil improvement techniques, ACIP piles, concrete piles, mini-piles, and stone columns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in construction environments.
  • Strong collaborative skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of local subsurface conditions.
  • Experience in fieldwork.
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
