Position Details

Compensation: Starting at $17.00 per hour

Shift: Second Shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities
  • Stage, check, and manage materials effectively.
  • Load trucks while adhering to safety protocols, even in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ensure materials are loaded onto trailers securely to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Understand and follow all safety regulations pertinent to a manufacturing setting.
  • Package and crate items to guarantee safe delivery and optimal loading capacity.
  • Utilize various crating and packaging materials as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other lifting machinery safely.
  • Monitor each load to ensure compliance with maximum allowable trailer loads and expedite work to meet production timelines.
  • Unload items and verify against shipping documents, noting any discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance to new employees in the shipping and warehouse areas.
  • Commit to continuous improvement practices within the work area.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with shipping and loading processes in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes is advantageous.
  • Ability to maneuver a Yard Tractor for trailer shuttling is a plus.
  • Prior experience with barcode scanners is beneficial.
  • Strong reading comprehension skills for understanding safety manuals and operational instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to the job.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions effectively.
  • Experience with power hand tools and forklift operation is required.
  • Capability to work under deadlines and in a diverse workforce.
  • Physical requirements include regular walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Must be able to work in environments with moving machinery and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
