National Director, Commercial Sector

Terracon is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the Commercial sector, one of the company's most established and revenue-generating sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering consulting and a technical expertise in one of Terracon's practice areas, such as geotechnical, environmental, construction materials, or facility consulting.
The Commercial sector director will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to drive revenue growth through strategic planning, client development, and relationship-building. They will work closely with Terracon's operational offices, service line directors, and company leadership to achieve business objectives.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of influencing broadly without direct authority, with excellent communication and collaboration skills. They will be a lifelong learner, independent, self-motivated, and self-directed, with a strong ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Commercial sector to achieve safe and profitable growth
- Mentor and lead sector staff to successful achievement of their roles
- Track and report data-driven key market information and facilitate strategy meetings
- Develop and oversee annual sector budget and business plan
- Collaborate with operations and service lines to build and support operational teams
- Lead national business development efforts and drive key client relationships
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, geology, architecture, or building science, or 20 years of related experience
- Professional license in area of specialty or discipline (if available)
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
