Role Overview

The Fraud Investigation Analyst will report directly to the Fraud Operations Manager within the US Region Fraud Management team. This role involves conducting thorough research and analysis of account activities to evaluate risk levels and identify types of fraud. The analyst will make informed fraud determinations and compile all necessary investigative reports, addressing fraud-related inquiries in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while safeguarding customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review account activities for potential fraudulent behavior.
  • Possess knowledge and/or experience in banking recovery processes, including affidavits and hold harmless agreements.
  • Utilize alert-based systems to detect possible fraudulent activities.
  • Collaborate with various operational functions to ensure proper escalation of significant fraud incidents.
  • Identify and report suspicious activity trends to relevant business lines to mitigate future losses.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, focusing on risk management and client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills to resolve complex issues by reviewing pertinent information.
  • Adhere to established processes and guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a positive and focused demeanor during challenging situations.
  • Make timely, informed decisions based on factual information.
  • Exhibit excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of fraud operations.

Additional Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in completing fraud affidavits.
  • Possession of certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner is advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A college degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in transaction and fraud monitoring.
  • Understanding of risk management principles.
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on a review of facts and circumstances.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Legally eligible to work in the specified location and possess a valid work or study permit if applicable.
