Job Title: Financial Crime Investigator

Avant is seeking a skilled Financial Crime Investigator to join our Fraud Operations team in Chicago. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for investigating and analyzing complex financial crimes, identifying patterns and trends, and developing strategies to prevent and mitigate fraud.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into financial crimes, including money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illicit activities
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends, and develop predictive models to prevent and detect fraud
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, risk management, and law enforcement, to share intelligence and best practices
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent and mitigate fraud, including training and awareness programs for employees and customers
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in financial crime prevention and detection
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or criminology
  • 2+ years of experience in financial crime investigation or a related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and tools, including SQL and data visualization platforms
