Job Title: Workers Compensation SIU Field Investigator

Chubb is seeking a skilled Workers Compensation SIU Field Investigator to join our team in the State of New York. This role involves investigating Workers Compensation claims to support informed claim decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze first reports of loss, underlying file material, and/or underwriting file to determine if a claim is suspect or potentially fraudulent.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to gather sufficient evidence for claim handling decisions.
  • Recommend final claim actions, including substantiation of legitimate claims or denial of unjustified claims.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including claim departments, loss control departments, underwriting departments, agents, defense counsel, insureds, SIU managers, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and industry anti-fraud organizations.
  • Establish strong business relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain and monitor active diaries, document claim file developments, prepare investigative reports, and provide quarterly reports to SIU management.
  • Familiarize yourself with and adhere to all State fraud statutes.
  • Pursue memberships in professional anti-fraud investigative organizations and participate in associated training and events.
  • Develop and provide fraud awareness training to internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an investigator with an insurance carrier, law enforcement, or the US military. Workers Compensation insurance investigation experience is a plus.
  • High-level acumen in investigation, listening, strategic/analytical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative thinking.
  • Strong knowledge of general industry trends and legislative activities regarding fraudulent claim handling, tort reform, fraud statutes, and civil/criminal procedures.
  • Clear interest in and quality execution of deeper-level investigations.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship skills, proven ability to build and maintain excellent customer relationships in all situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Travel and Education:
  • 50% travel required.
  • College degree preferred, and prior investigative experience required. Professional insurance designations desired but not required.

Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a pay range of $78,000 to $125,500, with the specific offer dependent on an applicant's skills and other factors.
