Job Summary

Bloodworks Northwest is seeking a highly skilled Animal Research Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our Animal Husbandry and Scientific Personnel team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in animal care and research procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and training to Animal Research Technician I and II staff members
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and maintain accurate records
  • Perform animal use procedures, including handling, restraint, dosing, blood collection, anesthesia, and euthanasia
  • Assist with research projects, including data collection and analysis
  • Maintain animal facilities, including cleaning, sanitation, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Experience working with research animals, including mice, and knowledge of animal behavior and husbandry
  • Ability to follow scientific protocols and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service
  • AALAS Laboratory Animal Technician certification preferred
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to aerosol dander from mice, blood-borne pathogens, and potentially infectious agents. Proper protective clothing and equipment will be provided.
