Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Electrical Engineer to join our team at DHD Consulting. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing electrical engineering design on power and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering designs for power and industrial projects.
  • Provide support on project scope and estimating, including input to project cost and schedule.
  • Control and monitor design budget, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Perform electrical system studies and calculations, including load flow and short circuit analysis, relay coordination and programming, arc flash analysis, grounding, and lightning protection system calculations.
  • Prepare engineering reports, tender and construction drawings, and documents.
  • Prepare equipment specification and selection, and perform technical bid evaluation and make recommendations.
  • Develop power distribution layouts, grounding and lightning protection system design and layouts.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, single line and three-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams.
  • Sizing and specifying electrical equipment.
  • Develop high voltage substation physical and protection and control system design.
  • Assist with field construction, commissioning, and vendor factory acceptance tests.
  • Effectively interact with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards and recommended practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical engineering design, preferably in power and industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid P.E. in the US or have NCEES record.
  • Experience with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, CDEGS.
