Uptime Engineering Sr. Job Description

PACCAR is a global leader in the commercial vehicle, financial, and customer service fields, with a strong presence in the design, manufacture, and customer support of high-quality trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates.

We are seeking a technical leader to join our uptime engineering team, responsible for analyzing diagnostic data across 10,000+ Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks to determine and drive corrective action resolution with the goal of decreasing vehicle downtime.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, chemical engineering, or computer science, with 5-7 years of automotive electrical, electronic, and software design experience, preferably within PACCAR.

This position will collaborate with an international, cross-functional team from manufacturing, service, product development, information technology, suppliers, and product validation, and will be responsible for tracking all aspects of active projects, prioritizing projects based on customer impact, providing periodic status updates to management, managing projects through tollgates, and ensuring use of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools.

The Uptime Engineering Sr. will also work closely with the Kenworth and Peterbilt warranty and field services teams to gather input and lead containment efforts to minimize unscheduled downtime.
