Job Summary

Under the direction of the Program Administrator, the Child Care Center Teacher/Director is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum and age-appropriate activities for the population served in the center.

The ideal candidate will have experience as an aide or teacher in a center-based program and possess a valid Child Development Permit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement curriculum and age-appropriate activities for the population served in the center.
  • Supervise other childcare center teachers, aides, and/or volunteers.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and other staff members.
  • Adjust program activities to meet the changing developmental needs of each child.
  • Implement discipline procedures when necessary.
Requirements
  • Appropriate Child Development Permit.
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License.
  • Fingerprint clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid Child Development Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • Specific knowledge of child development as it relates to the population served.
  • Ability to creatively plan activities and work collectively as a team member.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods.
  • Ability to see for the purposes of reading printed matter, computer screens, and observing students.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
  • Ability to communicate orally so others can understand a normal conversation.
Salary Schedule

The salary schedule for the Child Care Center Teacher/Director position is available upon request.
