Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Care Specialist to join our team at the City and County of San Francisco. As a Child Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare services to children in a child development center or play care program setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and supervise children's activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate play activities, incorporating numeracy and literacy strategies.
  • Interact with clients and children to provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate incident reports as needed.
  • Develop partnerships with CalWORKs Service Staff and other HSA programs to refer resources to parents/guardians.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current in child development, family support strategies, and customer service.
Requirements
  • Possession of an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Two years of full-time work experience working with children in a licensed childcare center or qualified license-exempt program.
  • Possession of Infant Child CPR certification and First Aid Training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Possession of a valid Early Care and Education Teacher's Permit.
