Position Overview

COMPENSATION: $17.50 to $19.00 Hourly

JOB TITLE: HARBOR EMPLOYMENT COACH, GROUP SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

As part of the Momentum WORK, Inc. team, the Harbor Employment Coach plays a vital role in delivering vocational training to individuals in our program. This position involves ensuring compliance with contract requirements while promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those served.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide and instruct a team of workers in fulfilling contract obligations.
  • Ensure all team members receive comprehensive training and understand their roles.
  • Provide initial orientation and continuous safety training.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in safe and accessible condition.
  • Supervise crew members consistently, including during breaks.
  • Act as a liaison with organizational personnel.
  • Participate in training sessions, staff meetings, and planning discussions.
  • Collaborate with Case Management to implement behavior programs and track progress.
  • Deliver personalized training focused on skill development and work habits.
  • Oversee the successful execution of contract specifications.
  • Work with the Management Team to ensure adequate site coverage.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with developmental and/or other disabilities in various settings.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of managing tasks amidst frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated compassion and respect for individuals with disabilities.
  • Patience and understanding towards individuals facing intellectual, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Availability during emergencies as outlined in the disaster plan.
  • Reliable phone access.
  • Valid CA Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid (training provided).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and comprehend technical written materials.
  • Frequent physical activity including climbing, stooping, twisting, or bending, and lifting up to fifty pounds using proper techniques.
  • Full awareness of environmental stimuli.
  • Capability to implement Crisis Management and Safety techniques (training included).
