Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual to work in our laboratory, performing a variety of routine and complex procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling and processing patient specimens, cultivating and identifying bacteria and other microorganisms, and performing various tests in molecular microbiology, mycobacteriology, mycology, parasitology, serology, or virology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex procedures, including specimen handling, processing, and testing.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of laboratory operations, including testing, Laboratory Information System (LIS), and quality control.
  • Ensure accuracy, interpretation, and reporting of results.
  • Participate in proficiency testing, internal and external continuing education, and performance improvement projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer needs and requests.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology.
  • National ASCP certification or ASCP certification eligible based on year of CLIA work experience.
