Position Overview:


The Field Engineering Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering technical engineering insights to the Project Manager, Craft Supervisors, and Corporate Functional Managers. This ensures that design evolution and construction activities adhere to all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design directives relevant to various disciplines.

This role also encompasses project controls assistance (cost management, scheduling, estimating) and oversight of subcontractors to support project construction supervision and craft teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications for industrial construction projects.
- Translate design documents for crafts responsible for material installation.
- Prepare field design change requests and 'as-built' documentation as necessary.
- Understand subcontractor agreements, scopes, terms, and technical specifications.
- Develop and plan construction work packages for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
- Analyze detailed project schedules, recognizing required predecessors and successors for each task.
- Ensure quality standards and industry requirements are met across various construction trades, performing typical QA/QC duties as outlined in the Lemartec Field Engineering Handbook.
- Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including technical communication.
- Manage and coordinate material and human resources effectively.
- Assist the Construction Manager in evaluating and reporting on subcontractor progress.
- Support subcontractors in alignment with the construction schedule and contractual obligations.
- Facilitate technical approvals from engineers and expedite design development in accordance with the engineering timeline and contract terms.
- Coordinate craft production and ensure timely release of work to meet subcontract and project timelines.
- Suggest modifications to engineering designs and interpret technical documents for subcontractors.
- Provide assistance to the Project Controls Manager in standard Project Controls tasks (i.e., cost management, scheduling, and estimating/re-estimating).

- Prepare and distribute all necessary documentation, including QA/QC reports, punch lists, sketches of completed work, and material requirement calculations.

- Comply with the requirements set forth in the Lemartec Field Engineering Handbook.
- Follow the guidelines outlined in the Lemartec Employee Handbook and Human Resources Policies.
- Adhere to the Lemartec Safety Manual and OSHA regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager as needed.
- Engage in physical activities such as lifting objects up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, and sitting for extended periods.
- Utilize personal protective equipment as required, including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, civil, or HVAC systems is preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Familiarity with the design and engineering of large-scale industrial projects across all engineering disciplines.
- Understanding of construction processes, including material, equipment, cost, and time requirements.
- Proficiency in technical engineering and computing.
- Awareness of applicable codes for industrial construction.

Technical Proficiency:
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), AutoCAD, and Document Control Systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with preference given to candidates with additional language skills as needed.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment throughout all phases of an EPC Project with minimal supervision.
