Overview

Role Responsibilities

Cadmus, LLC is looking for a Quantitative Energy Associate to become a part of our Energy Services Division. Our team delivers sophisticated analytical and strategic consulting services to a variety of stakeholders, including energy firms, utility providers, governmental bodies, and non-profit organizations across the globe.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Assessing the financial implications of energy efficiency initiatives, renewable energy solutions, and load management systems.
  • Conducting economic, statistical, and econometric modeling and analysis to support cost-effectiveness evaluations and resource planning.

Ideal candidates will possess a strong interest and background in economics, finance, mathematics, energy management, or energy efficiency. They should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication abilities, be highly self-driven to learn and perform, and exhibit the capability to work both collaboratively and independently. Additionally, they should be adept at managing assigned tasks and projects from inception to completion with guidance from supervisors. This position entails both technical responsibilities and project support/management.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and execution of cost-effectiveness research initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Evaluating costs and savings associated with energy efficiency and distributed generation projects.
    • Estimating project and measure expected useful life.
    • Forecasting natural gas and electricity expenses.
    • Conducting both primary and secondary data collection.
    • Analyzing and interpreting energy and financial data to derive meaningful insights and recommendations for inclusion in concise, well-written reports.

Project Support

  • Assist with project management tasks such as internal coordination and budget oversight.
  • Contribute to proposal development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or relevant professional experience in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative social sciences.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in cost-benefit analysis and familiarity with cost-effectiveness calculators and evaluations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional writing, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changes in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the energy sector or utility industry is advantageous.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Python/Jupyter, R, VBA, Matlab, SQL, Access, FileMaker, or other analytical programming languages or platforms.

Additional Information

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S. Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen. Cadmus offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, voluntary time off (VTO), tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and various bonus programs.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $85,000, with actual compensation determined by relevant experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
