Key Responsibilities

  • Design and teach cooking classes to engage and educate students
  • Complete shopping for cooking school classes, ensuring the freshest quality ingredients
  • Assist in preparation for cooking classes, including setup and cleanup
  • Assist guest chefs during cooking school classes, providing support and guidance
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure sanitation standards are met
  • Provide exceptional customer service, using suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and trends
  • Assist in class and recipe testing, as assigned

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of related experience in restaurants and/or catering
  • Culinary school coursework/degree, related education or experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of food and culinary trends
  • Previous food preparation experience required

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, and reach overhead and side to side throughout shift
  • Ability to work in a cooler environment on a regular basis and in an extreme cold environment on an occasional basis
  • Ability to work in extreme heat from ovens and fryers

Working Conditions

  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme noise
