Job Title: Emerging Technology Product Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Emerging Technology Product Engineer to join our team at Navistar. As a key member of our eMobility team, you will be responsible for the development and integration of thermal systems into our BEV vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with thermal system architects to determine thermal control systems needs
  • Develop and cascade requirements for all thermal control systems in response to battery, powertrain, and other component thermal demands
  • Execute validation, system management, FMEA, and diagnostic requirements for the management of thermal systems in a BEV or FCEV
  • Manage all thermal systems, including control and monitoring of valves, pumps, compressors, fans, etc.
  • Work with suppliers to inhale their functionality and develop, implement, and validate comprehensive stateflow-like requirements
  • Collaborate with controls and software teams on feature implementation and resolving requirement or implementation issues
  • Serve as the interface from the eMobility team to other Navistar interfaces and alliance partners to optimize implementation for Navistar-branded vehicles
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies
  • At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
Desired Skills:
  • BSEE, BSME, BS, MS or PhD in any systems related discipline, MS or PhD preferred
  • Experience working for or in a controls or requirements environment such as Polarion or Doors
  • Demonstrated expert on vehicle level EV thermal management and implementation
  • Deep thinking hands-on contributor of technical solutions
  • High natural curiosity that seeks and retains deep domain knowledge, system performance, and optimization across all vehicle functions and customer expectations
