Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer II to join our team. The successful candidate will act as the direct contact between Sales, the customer, and the Gleason organization to coordinate technical activities related to Gleason Gear Technology.

The ideal candidate will have some level of bevel and cylindrical gear knowledge and be able to provide related technical assistance to customers, troubleshoot existing problems with machines and processes, and make suitable recommendations for improvement or correction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides technical assistance to customers regarding previous or future purchases, trouble shoots existing problems with machines and processes, and makes suitable recommendations for improvement or correction.
  • Analyzes, defines, documents, and reports customer requirements and expectations for machine programs.
  • Uses Statistical Process Control as required in support of machine qualification to verify that machines purchased by customers meet their quality and production requirements.
  • Determines production analyses for potential machine sales by predicting cycle times and duty cycles based on customer's production needs and prepares proposal.
  • Defines tool configuration for the required process and verifies new machine capabilities and processes by testing or analyzing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with Gear Process Technology is a plus.
  • Must have strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, exceptional problem solving, decision making and effective communication skills are required.
