About This Position

The Public Works Department is seeking highly skilled Automotive Master Technicians to join our team. As a key member of our Fleet Services Division, you will be responsible for performing advanced journey-level mechanical and technical work in the maintenance and repair of City vehicles, including Police and Fire vehicles, light to heavy-duty trucks, cars, and other related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance and schedule safety inspections on City vehicles
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and repairs on vehicles, ensuring proper performance and safety
  • Record repairs and services on work orders, maintaining accurate records
  • Exercise independence in diagnosing drivability issues and verifying proper performance
  • Work on the most technically challenging work orders, requiring greater knowledge and skills
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Four years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and computerized diagnostics of automotive equipment
  • OR Four years of experience as an Equipment Service Worker II
  • OR an associate degree in automotive technology from an accredited college
  • Plus, two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and computerized diagnostics of automotive equipment
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Alternative Fuel Vehicle/Hybrid/Electric maintenance
  • Manufacture specific (Chevrolet and Ford) diagnostic and driving
