Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Master Technician to join our team at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing automotive equipment, as well as experience working with alternative fuel and diesel fuel systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair automotive equipment, including cars, light trucks, and related equipment
  • Use fleet maintenance management software to enter repair information
  • Work with hybrid vehicles, diesel fuel automotive equipment, and alternative fuel systems
  • Meet the minimum qualifications listed above, plus experience working with manufacture specific diagnostic and drivability systems
Requirements
  • Four years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and computerized diagnostics of automotive equipment
  • OR Four years of experience as an Equipment Service Worker II
  • OR an Associate's degree in automotive technology from an accredited college
  • Plus two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and computerized diagnostics of automotive equipment
  • Graduation from an accredited automotive trade school may be substituted for six months of experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with hybrid vehicles
  • Experience working with diesel fuel automotive equipment
  • Experience or training with manufacture specific diagnostic and drivability systems
  • Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) CSFD Emissions Certification preferred
What We Offer
  • A competitive hourly rate of $24.93 to $30.31
  • A tool allowance of $600 annually
  • The opportunity to work with a variety of automotive equipment and systems

Please note that all positions require a motor vehicle air conditioning Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), section 609, certification issued by an EPA certified testing agency at time of hire. Some positions also require a State of Arizona Vehicular Emissions Inspector Certification and/or alternative fuel/diesel fuel certification(s) at the time of hire.

Working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required. All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
