About the Role

Apple is seeking a highly motivated and energetic System Tools Engineer to develop and maintain the software tools needed to deliver amazing products only Apple could imagine and more importantly deliver.

Your Role

Your role within the Systems Engineering Team is to build and maintain unique software tools as a full stack engineer. These tools are needed to model Apple's systems, bring up new hardware, facilitate experiments that define product features and requirements, and perform simulations that inform product architecture and requirements.

  • Breadth of Engineering Skills: The team is a collection of talented engineers from across EE, ME, and SW disciplines, and you'll need to communicate effectively with everyone to help deliver projects holistically.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: You should be organized and detail-oriented to be successful when working with complex systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in electrical engineering, computer science or computer engineering
  • 2+ years of work in a related field
  • Strong verbal communication skills to collaborate with varying disciplines across organizations
  • Excellent written skills for clear reporting of data, analysis and conclusions
  • Ability to develop solutions using Python, Javascript, Matlab or C/C++

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to bring up new hardware and prototypes with embedded SW
  • Deep knowledge in a variety of software tooling solutions for web development, containerization, hardware control, systems modeling and publishing

Compensation and Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
