Role Significance

In the capacity of a Lead Consultant for Operational Excellence, you will spearhead and oversee medium to large-scale initiatives aimed at assisting stakeholders in achieving operational superiority and lasting outcomes.

Your proficiency in lean/six sigma and various improvement frameworks will be pivotal in diagnosing, designing, and executing solutions that tackle the fundamental issues causing process inefficiencies. Additionally, you will play a vital role in the formulation and dissemination of best practices in continuous improvement and thought leadership. This role encompasses conducting research, performing interviews, strategically analyzing results, identifying potential solutions, presenting insights to leadership, and implementing process modifications as necessary.

A Typical Day:
  • Direct and manage the comprehensive delivery of improvement initiatives, from scoping and planning through to execution and closure, ensuring quality, timeliness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Engage with stakeholders to effectively define projects through the creation of charters that outline measurable outcomes, timelines, and communication strategies.
  • Utilize a structured, data-driven methodology for problem-solving, employing suitable tools and techniques to assess the current state, identify root causes, design future states, and implement solutions as required.
  • Co-facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions with client stakeholders and teams, employing effective communication and change management techniques to engage and influence.
  • Manage both formal and informal communication strategies related to Continuous Improvement.
  • Support leadership strategies and address critical issues through engagement in continuous improvement projects.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with leadership and internal stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and collaborator.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement consulting practice by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and insights, while participating in internal initiatives and projects.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in Continuous Improvement. All pertinent experience, including work, education, transferable skills, and military service, will be taken into account.
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in lean, six sigma, and other improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, DMAIC), tools, and techniques, with the ability to apply them across various contexts.
  • Exceptional project management and analytical skills, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to define challenges, interpret and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and design metrics for processes.
  • Experience in leading and delivering improvement initiatives across diverse industries, with a proven history of achieving measurable and sustainable outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, conflict resolution, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities, with the capacity to adapt to different audiences and styles.
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and customer-focused, with the ability to cultivate and sustain effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Green Belt certification or training and/or Lean/Six Sigma certification or training.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and Product management.
  • Background in the healthcare sector.
