Contract Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to join our team at Heico Construction Group. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining day-to-day contract operations, including coordination of contract reviews, meetings, and supervising support staff to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, purchase orders, and miscellaneous agreements with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and partners.
  • Manage contract lifecycle from initiation to closeout, including amendments and renewals.
  • Address and resolve any contractual disputes or issues that arise.
  • Ensure contracts comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company contracting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized records of all contracts and related documents.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contractual agreements.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of contracts and related processes.
  • Facilitate, implement, and conduct department-wide training as necessary to ensure necessary staff is familiar with Heico Construction Group contracting and subcontracting procedures and requirements.
  • Provide legal advice and support to project teams on contractual matters.
  • Maintain Texas law license to ensure Heico Construction Group remains up to date regarding relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, by attending the Texas Bar Association's Annual Construction Law Conference in San Antonio each year (or comparable CLE seminar) and/or IRMI's Construction Risk Conference.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize legal and financial exposure.
  • Conduct risk assessments of contract and subcontract insurance provisions and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with corporate insurance risk management and insurance providers to ensure adequate coverage and ability to comply with contractual requirements for projects.
Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of contract law.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, or business management, or construction management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management and legal affairs, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Experience with marine, piling, and civil construction projects.
  • Experience with insurance compliance.
