Job Title: Industrial Hygienist/Environmental Scientist

Our client, a leading environmental consulting firm, is seeking an Industrial Hygienist/Environmental Scientist to support its activities in performing Asbestos, Lead and Mold Surveys, Indoor Air Quality Investigations and Soil/Groundwater studies primarily in the Baltimore, DC, MD area/region.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and competent individual to join our team as an Industrial Hygienist/Environmental Scientist. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys, investigations, and sampling efforts to identify and mitigate hazardous materials in commercial, residential, and other buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental sciences, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a flexible and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys and investigations to identify hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead paint, and PCBs.
  • Collect and analyze samples to determine the presence and concentration of hazardous materials.
  • Develop and implement abatement plans to mitigate hazardous materials.
  • Assist in preparing reports, drafts, tables, and figures to document findings and recommendations.
  • Support sampling efforts for soil and groundwater.
  • Collaborate with regulatory officials and customers to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Studies or relevant discipline required.
  • Maryland Asbestos Building Inspector certificate highly preferred.
  • MD Lead Risk Assessor/Inspector license highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience relating to Asbestos, Lead and Mold Surveys, Indoor Air Quality Investigations and Soil/Groundwater studies.
  • Knowledge with EPA and ASTM Guidance Documents covering Investigation, Remediation, O&M.
  • Knowledge and experience with DE/PA/MD Environmental Regulations.
  • AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with Regulatory officials and Customers.
