Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operator to join our team at Bioenergy Development Group LLC. As a Logistics Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks, railcars, and other vehicles or material containers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Logistics Equipment: Set up, start up, operate, or shut down logistics equipment per documented operating procedures.
  • Validate Driver's Paperwork: Validate the driver's paperwork with the correct weight ticket and complete required paperwork.
  • Complete Logistics Tasks: Complete logistics operating work tasks in alignment with priorities set by Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and Logistics Manager.
  • Monitor Loading/Unloading Areas: Monitor loading/unloading areas to ensure that materials in vehicles and containers are not in danger of overflowing.
  • Report Deviations: Report loading/unloading deviations, or other concerns to production shift supervisor/production manager upon discovery.
  • Comply with Regulations: Comply with regulatory, company policies and procedures including safety.
  • Set Up Equipment: Ensure lines and valves are properly set up per documented operating procedures before loading.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Troubleshoot, when necessary, problems associated with receiving tank level information.
  • Train Other Operators: Train other operators in loading/unloading work tasks and activities.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of equipment and loading/unloading areas in accordance with good housekeeping and safety rules.
  • Knowledge of BQ 9000: Possess practical knowledge of BQ 9000 concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Quality Policy: Understand Bioenergy Quality Policy and dedication to consistently and safely provide quality products that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Employee Safety Committee: May serve on an Employee Safety (Involvement) Committee.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: At least 1 to 3 years of logistics plant work experience or closely similar industrial plant manufacturing setting.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to walk for prolonged periods, able to work on multi-levels, able to climb straight ladders, and able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Experience with Tanker Trucks and Rail Cars: Experience with tanker trucks and/or rail cars required.
Additional Information

This is a full-time position that reports to the Logistics Manager. The work schedule for this position is 12-hour fixed shifts. This role may be required to overtime hours outside regular shift schedule to support non-routine work and plant turnarounds. The Memphis biodiesel manufacturing plant operates on a 7-day, 24-hour schedule.
